Travel Coverage Alert - Dec 2021

You may have recently seen announcements about travel restrictions, given the increase in the COVID-19 infection rate. This is a note to alert you that some carriers are making changes to their out-of-country (OOC) travel coverage. 

This is what you need to know as it relates to COVID:

All Group carrier changes are not the same; some are excluding OOC protection and some are not. Wherever you are travelling, be sure to contact your OOC carrier in advance to confirm you have protection. 

Some Group carriers restrict coverage for countries whose risk assessment level is at Level 3 or Level 4. For example, Canada is, as at Dec 20, 2021, at a risk assessment Level 3.
